Youth & Family Engagement (YFE)

YFE seeks to engage families with school-age children and youth ages 13-18 from across our region to deal with academic, physical and social emotional development issues, parent/teen conflict and family crisis. YFE offers opportunities for youth to participate in educational, character-building, and service experiences. The program empowers parents and families to enhance participation, communication, and collaboration within the family unit. The YFE program plan incorporates evidence-based practices around trauma-informed care, violence prevention, mentoring, and social services to promote youth development and family engagement. With the support of an assigned Family Life Liaison, families acquire needed parenting and relational skills and receive resources that enhance quality of life.
