About Project Destiny

Since 2004 Project Destiny has provided a safe place where youth and families can find needed resources, become involved in support groups, cultural and educational programming and enjoy a variety of fun activities.

We believe it is imperative to provide an atmosphere where inner city youth can grow and experience positive relationships while gaining a confident self-image. We do this through mentors, tutors, classes, athletics and recreational activities. We strive to heighten children’s expectations, promote multicultural awareness, respect and promote physical, emotional and social growth. We give children a broader world view by exposing them to other cultures, travel outside of Pittsburgh, experiencing other communities and learning about animals and the environment. We hope to instill in these children a new found respect for life in general and human life in particular.

Through our collaborations with the Pittsburgh Zoo and Four Points Alpaca Farm we are able to give children a hands-on, close up experience with animals and their caretakers.

A Message From Rev. Dr. Brenda J. Gregg

Founder & Executive Director

Project Destiny, Inc. continues to strengthen and sustain our mission to to reach out to the community and our youth. For all of our youth programming we are working with the Pittsburgh Public Schools specifically, John Morrow, Martin Luther King and Allegheny to identify additional youth as well as working with the teachers in these schools on any issues related to truancy, academics or behavior for the youth involved our programs.

We are very proud of the work we’ve done with and for families in the Northside community and of our continued collaborations with Allegheny County Department of Human Services and other partners. These collaborations have been invaluable in supporting the work we are doing here at Project Destiny, Inc.

Our Logo: Z-Rex & His Mom

Our logo is Z-Rex and his mom who are alpaca’s living at the Four Points Alpaca Farm in Butler. This farm is owned and operated by Jan and Don Phillips who allow our children to come and feed and pet the Alpacas on our summer field trips to the farm. To us, these alpacas represent Project Destiny’s mission to provide a nurturing and caring environment in which to serve the families and children living in our community.
